It was a perfect day. The most beautiful part was the genuine gratitude and happiness exuded by the Bride and Groom for all who were there, participating, making the day complete. I’ve never seen a bride and groom so full of love and grace. So glad I got to be a part of that.

Spring Mini Sessions

With so much going on these days it’s getting harder to post on the blog. I have so many sessions from last fall that I want to share too! It’ll happen soon enough (i hope). We had such a darling set of clients come out to participate in the Spring Mini Sessions this year, I had to share. I was loving the vibe, and the look. Brendy Frampton was an amazing sidekick for this event. She took everything up a notch. I loved having her light spirit with me the whole day, and all the detail she brought. I will definitely coordinate our fall minis with her too so be on the look out for that after summer. She’s a talent. She made the flower crowns with flowers from Petite Petal Co. She made the feather crowns for the boys, the donut cake and donut pops, the fairy wands, and brought juice for kids, and La Croix water for us adults. She’s so thoughtful and loving.

My vision was to use a studio, with that romantic window light flooding in, with a teepee and flowers garland draped over it. Pretty simple, but aslo so pretty and sweet. I ordered the garland from Seascape Flowers. They were awesome to work with as well. If you’re in Aptos hanging near Seascape Resort, you must stop in to her sweet little shop! I’m so happy and grateful that this all came together. I had such fun with these spring chickens. Thanks to all who joined us! Enjoy a little peek into our day! xo

The Canary Foundation 2015 Spring Luncheon

“The Canary Center at Stanford is a newly opened world-class facility dedicated to cancer early detection research programs. The mission of the center is to foster research leading to the development of blood tests and molecular imaging approaches to detect and localize early cancers. The center is the first in the world to integrate research on both in vivo andin vitro diagnostics to deliver these tests, by housing state-of-the-art core facilities and collaborative research programs in molecular imaging, proteomics, chemistry, and bioinformatics. These initiatives have extensive links to the Cancer Center at Stanford, forming a direct pipeline for the translation of early cancer detection research into clinical trials and practice. The Center was established through an alliance between the Canary Foundation, founded by Don Listwin, the Department of Radiology, and the School of Medicine. The center is directed by Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, Virginia and D.K. Ludwig Professor in Cancer Research and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine.”

Another amazingly inspiring event hosted by the Canary Foundation. They are a brilliant team working outside the box toward early detection of cancer. A panel of doctors and scientists answered questions during the luncheon on just how this research and data collection is being done; and I was in complete awe of their intellect and creativity to find solutions toward their goals. Without the Canary Foundation high risk projects like these would not be funded. Consider donating to this amazing foundation. It’s for a wonderful cause.

Date Night-In | styled by Beijos

I met up with Abby again last week to capture her brilliant idea of a valentine date night in. Doesn’t that sound just right? It sure does to me!  No crowds, no lines, no reservations, no uncomfortable clothes. Simple and cozy. That’s my kind of romance.

“Put the kiddies to bed, and have your valentine meet you in the kitchen for a fun and flirty night…just the two of you.”– Abby

Yes, please, I think I will! *details below.

To get this look… from Abby:

Start with a fun placemat, I used this World Market Cotton Crocheted Placemat (its currently sold out, but this placemat would work as well).

Use an everyday small salad plate, layer with a clear glass plate (I used my own pink depression plates, you can find a lot on etsy), and one more texture plate. I used these wooden plates to go with the small wooden heart.

My table was made up of vintage finds and modern elements… pinks from light to bright, purples, and metallics like copper and gold. I used gold vintage goblets that I found at the antique fair a couple years ago with purple succulents and magenta + plum carnations sat on top of them.

Little wooden hearts gently placed on top of loose flowers inside an acrylic square box, and  all glassware from  The Little Market,

Natasha Kolenko created the beautiful floral arrangements.

Gold Flatware  + vintage hmong napkins

Have fun being creative and loving on your Valentine, the most important part of this! xo

We’re on the brink of a New Year! The older I get, the faster it seems to come. A good reminder to appreciate the moments, right when we’re in them.

I teamed up with the fabulous team at Beijos again to inspire you to embrace New Year’s Day — stay in your PJ’s all day, make mimosa’s, and chill out with a brunch laid out on the living room floor. Mellow, relaxed, and cozy. Sounds just about right to me.

Charlotte & Mackenzie’s 3rd Birthday | Los Gatos Event Photography

Charlotte and Mackenzie were born extremely early and weighed each only 1 pound at birth. The sweet little things were in the NICU for an extended period of time and extremely vulnerable. Brought home on oxygen, mom was encouraged to keep them isolated for health risk reasons for over 2 years. Now, finally, they are 3 and mom used the gratitude and joy for her healthy little babes to celebrate with all the people  and doctors who have supported them for the past three years. She collaborated with Beijos Events for design and hired Frozen’s Elsa and Anna (the Twin’s favorites) to be there  with all their magic. Guests were invited to donate to Good Samaritan Hospital in lieu of gifts. It was awesome to see how happy and healthy  Charlotte and Mackenzie are. They were practically spellbound by the arrival of the ice princess, as all their friends were too. “Let it Go” was sung loud and clear by all the kids, Gelato was served from Dolce Spazio in Los Gatos, Face painting, bubble machines, a magic show…you name it, it was happening. It was a happy day. I was glad to be there and to once again, meet another sweet family. Here’s a peek into the party.

Guido Salute! | Italian Themed Farm-to-Table Birthday party | with Beijos Events

Always love the working with ladies of Beijos.

This was a rustic Italian-themed, Farm-to-table, backyard birthday bash in honor of Abby’s two gorgeous kiddos turning 2 and 4. She worked wonders in her backyard.  I was almost drooling over the fresh honeycomb. oh my goodness that is such a sweet treat. It was incredible, which isn’t at all surprising. She’s got great taste and knows how to present it. Head over to 100 Layer Cakelet and check out  the feature for details on vendors she used. It’s a great way to snag ideas for your upcoming bday bash.

For now, enjoy the details. They make it all so good.
