This is Lisa Miller. We recently did some head shots together. She’s a local therapist practicing around the corner from the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden. She’s so good at what she does. She specializes in Expressive Arts Therapy. Her background includes working with children/teens, individuals, groups, and families experiencing a wide variety of challenges.  Below is a little note from her about what she does. Cheers to staying emotionally healthy in 2015 and forward. There’s no shame in getting help, ever. We all need it sometimes.

“I work with youth, individuals, families, couples, and groups to support them through difficult emotions and transitions. With compassion and understanding I work to build upon your strengths and natural resources. Because I believe each of us is unique I use an integration of theoretic approaches in order to create an effective and personalized approach. If you are considering making changes toward a more fulfilling and satisfying life therapy is a great place to start.

In my practice I utilize the Trauma-Informed approach focusing on “What has happened to you?” instead of “What is wrong with you?” Together we will address how your trauma experiences has impacted you. In collaboration we will work towards achieving safety, connection, and empowerment.
In Expressive Arts Therapy sessions individuals can explore and transform emotional, social, spiritual, and relational issues through the use of creative arts. The session is focused on the process of creation instead of the final product. Expressive Arts Therapy is utilized with individuals of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.”
